Terms of Service

1. Introduction

Welcome to HandballCore (“Platform”, “Service”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). HandballCore is a sports technology platform for the handball community that enables player profiles, club management, match scoring, tournament organization, and related services.

By accessing or using HandballCore at handballcore.com or any associated mobile applications, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Platform.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account or use the Platform.
  • If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may use the Platform only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. By using the Platform, you represent that you have obtained such consent.
  • By creating an account, you represent and warrant that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. Account Registration and Security

  • You must provide a valid email address and/or phone number to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at support@handballcore.com if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Platform Services

HandballCore provides the following services (subject to change):

  • Player Profiles: Create and manage individual handball player profiles.
  • Club Management: Register clubs, manage rosters, and assign player roles.
  • Tournament Organization: Create and manage tournaments in knockout, league, or group+knockout formats.
  • Match Scoring: Live match scoring and event tracking (goals, cards, timeouts).
  • Statistics and Standings: Automated calculation of player statistics, team standings, and match summaries.
  • Match Cards: Generation of shareable match summary cards.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time without prior notice.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
  • Create accounts using false or misleading information.
  • Impersonate another person, player, club, or organization.
  • Submit false match scores, fabricated statistics, or misleading tournament results.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or Platform systems.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the Platform.
  • Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content.
  • Harass, abuse, or threaten other users through the Platform.
  • Use the Platform to promote discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, or sexual orientation.
  • Commercially exploit Platform data without prior written consent from HandballCore.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure or servers.

Violation of this policy may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

6. User Content and Data Ownership

Your Content: You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Platform, including but not limited to player profile information, club details, match scores, tournament configurations, and uploaded images (“User Content”).

License to HandballCore: By submitting User Content, you grant HandballCore a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating, improving, and promoting the Platform.

Aggregated Data: HandballCore owns all rights to aggregated, anonymized, or statistical data derived from User Content. This includes tournament statistics, match trends, player performance analytics, and usage patterns. This data does not identify individual users.

Data Portability: You may request a copy of your User Content by contacting support@handballcore.com. We will make reasonable efforts to provide your data in a commonly used format within 30 days of your request.

Content Removal: We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or is deemed inappropriate, without prior notice.

7. Club Administrator Responsibilities

If you create or manage a club on the Platform:

  • You are responsible for ensuring that all club members have consented to their information being added to the Platform.
  • You must have authorization to represent the club and add members to its roster.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of match scores and tournament results submitted by your club.
  • You must not add players to your club roster without their knowledge or consent.

8. Tournament Organizer Responsibilities

If you create or manage a tournament on the Platform:

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of tournament settings, team registrations, and match results.
  • You must ensure that all participating teams and players are aware that the tournament is being managed through HandballCore.
  • HandballCore is a management tool — we are not responsible for the physical organization, safety, or conduct of any real-world tournament or match.
  • Disputes between participating teams or players are the responsibility of the tournament organizer, not HandballCore.

9. Intellectual Property

  • The HandballCore name, logo, design, source code, features, and all associated materials are the exclusive property of HandballCore and its creator.
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on any part of the Platform without prior written consent.
  • All trademarks, service marks, and logos displayed on the Platform are the property of their respective owners.

10. Free Service and Future Changes

  • HandballCore is currently provided free of charge.
  • We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscription plans, or usage limits in the future.
  • If we introduce paid services, existing free features may be modified but we will provide reasonable notice before any changes take effect.
  • We are under no obligation to maintain the Platform or any specific feature indefinitely.

11. Third-Party Services

  • HandballCore uses third-party services including but not limited to Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Google (OAuth authentication), and PostHog (analytics).
  • Your use of the Platform may be subject to the terms and privacy policies of these third-party providers.
  • We are not responsible for the availability, security, or practices of third-party services.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • HandballCore is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from security vulnerabilities.
  • We are not responsible for any loss of data, including match scores, player statistics, tournament records, or club information.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to HandballCore in the 12 months preceding the claim (if the service is free, this amount is zero).
  • We are not responsible for any injuries, disputes, or incidents that occur during real-world handball matches or tournaments organized through the Platform.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HandballCore, its creator, and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Platform.
  • Your violation of these Terms.
  • Your infringement of any third-party rights.
  • Any User Content you submit to the Platform.

14. Account Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@handballcore.com.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.
  • We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., match records that are part of tournament history).

15. Modifications to Terms

  • We may update these Terms at any time.
  • Material changes will be communicated via email or a notice on the Platform.
  • Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
  • If you do not agree with updated Terms, you must stop using the Platform and delete your account.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be resolved through:

  1. Informal resolution: Contact us at support@handballcore.com. We will attempt to resolve the dispute within 30 days.
  2. Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, the dispute shall be settled by binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 of India.
  3. Jurisdiction: The courts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

18. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and HandballCore regarding your use of the Platform, superseding any prior agreements.
